Sustainable land use and thus also sustainable land management are essential components of an overall process of sustainable development. Innovative approaches and strategies are needed to reduce the amount of land used and to promote sustainable land management. Thus, planners must focus on the topic of urbanism in concert with planning structures, land-use planning and building regulations, structural revitalization and conversion, the compatibility and sustainability of decisions, enhancing and harmonizing functional components, the compression and expansion of structures in the context of overall socio-cultural and commercial factors.
