The new fabric of the building was seamlessly integrated into the overall village scenery and surroundings. The latent qualities of the interiors and open spaces were exploited so that the building’s form and expressed statement met the requirements of the future users. Thus, it was decided to employ building shapes and designs prevalent in the neighborhood, as well as to use constructional materials native to the locality. The two gabled roofs create the impression that there are two independent buildings in the landscape – however, their common characters make it clear that they are a single structure. For both halves of the building, the upper story and the top story as well as the balconies were overlaid with larch battens. However, the differing orientations of the wood overlays – RH1 horizontal and RH2 vertical – emphasize the separation of the two halves.
